Diaper rash
WeeCare Lanolin Ointment heals the skin effectively and is great to use for vulnerable baby bottoms (that wear diapers). Because of the beeswax in the lanolin ointment, it also protects the skin. So, you can use the ointment preventively by applying it to the baby’s bottom before it gets red. For example, if your child easily gets diaper rashes, it will be a good idea to use the ointment preventively. Our ointment ensures that a protective barrier is applied to the skin, so that the diaper does not come in direct contact with the skin.
Pee in the diaper is, over time, transformed into ammonia, which can irritate the skin and cause diaper rash.
Apply the ointment to the clean and dry skin before putting on a new clean diaper and preferably every time you change the diaper. For example, if your baby tends to get diaper rashes after wearing the same diaper all night, you may want to apply a little extra ointment on the skin before putting on the night diaper.
Always remember to investigate the reason why your child gets diaper rashes. Perhaps your baby is allergic to disposable diapers, or a particular brand of diapers, perhaps it is fungus, or perhaps your child’s skin just cannot handle being closed inside a diaper most of the day. The last part is the case for many children, and this is also why we recommend as much diaper-free time during the day as possible.
Always contact your doctor if your child continues to have the diaper rash or if it is very bad.
